Monday 8-9 and Tuesday 8-10 Waterfalls and Fertile Feilds

Monday is typically the missionaries "day off" here in Kara. That ususally consists of running to the market to shop thirty street vendors for food, going to the bank in hopes the ATM is working, paying bills in several different offices around town, keeping up with kids and hopefully finding a few hours of down time. Yesterday, in that few hours of bliss Matt Miller (Kabiye missionary) his daughter Abby and son Aiden, Dave Reeves and his daughter Hannah and son Elijah, Grace and Myself took a hike in the beautiful mountains that surround Kara to a waterfall. We all got to take a swim there at the base of it and really enjoyed the adventure together. It was a long hike, we got rained on, but God's glory was in full force in the presence of a rainbow that stood in front of us as we drove back home.

Tuesday morning was taken up by the Quarterly Leaders Meeting here among the Kabiye churches. Currently there is around a seventeen churches planted and leaders from those churches came to Kara to discuss difficulties and evangelistic victories they have faced over the last several months. It was so encouraging to witness the maturity with which they handled some difficult problems and the cohesiveness that they share as a group. We left there and ate lunch then headed to Koumea Lau, a village without any church that had requested we come and discuss church planting with them. There were about forty heads in all circled around us as we talked about what we feel biblical churches look like. Their reactions were great! Saturday Matt and Brett are going back to begin teaching, please pray that God would be working in and with the people in Koumae Lau. After that we came back and enjoyed another great dinner with the Reeves family. Their kids are an amazingly fun, loud, and personality filled group of company.

We appreciate your prayers and support. We're so excited to feel the peace God is giving us and the validation provided from the quality of character provided by our teammates here. In Christ Alone,

matt hangen
